Clipse (ft. Ab-Liva) - “Pop Champagne”
“Re-Up Gang associate Sandman, the weakest link in the extended group, has left, and so now we get an undiluted blast of pure Thornton brothers along with a couple of guest appearances from Re-Up survivor Ab-Liva, whose verse over the “Pop Champagne” beat is a thing of breathless beauty. And Malice and Pusha just have incredible voices, precise and almost technically fussy flows that can drip with contempt like nobody since circa-1999 Jay-Z.”
- Tom Breihan
I got their new “preview” album (free download here) and they keep talking about how ‘09 is their year… Well I also got some big things waiting on the ‘09 horizon.
2008 saw me learning to play guitar, spending a summer at Venice Beach, finally having a car to explore this sprawling concrete jungle, winning half a G on my first trip to Vegas, getting a promotion, living with 2 (or 3) new people, taking my first good punch (kinda?) … a Giants Superbowl… a Lakers blown championship… a black president… oh and this tumblog.
I’m looking forward to making 2009 the most intense work hard/play hard year ever. Hopefully we’ll see the resurgence of a forgotten domain, a modest chunk of old-school art projects in the first quarter of the year, some mid-to-large sums of honest money by February, an adventure to South America, some unexpected learning, big-time changes and maybe I’ll even dive back into that old musical-creation love that just keeps on gathering dust.
And as much as I hate plans, I often notice myself falling into weird places without a system, so here are some links that will keep me going while the energy lasts (a few places to organize your work AND play):

"New" Look, Same Stale Taste
Look I made a christmas logo, Happy Bloody Holidays!
My feet will be on New York soil in less than a week and I am…’very excite’. Although I hope my warm cali-blood can handle the east coast chill.
We turned our heat on last night for the first time in a year… The fire alarm went off within 3 minutes. Great job!
